pulling all strings

“so would you like to request a window or an aisle seat ?”

“an aisle seat would be great thanks”

after a moment , she staples the flimsy e-itinerary next to my nine-month old ticket .

“here’s your ticket . all confirmed”

then she adds :

“you’re very lucky you know”

well , everyone always complains that it’s always hard to fly on the day they actually want to fly on – without some time in advance .

i suppose i’ve always been lucky that way ; walking in casually into any airline headquarters when everyone says it’s too late to get a ticket on any day i want – and getting it with no hassles . i just hope i didn’t just jinx this streak for future reference .

other than that , i can’t really say it’s been the best of times . but as they say – when the going gets tough , the tough gets going .

being resourceful is a constant bag of tricks not many people can play but i know many who do it better than me . yet , battling the elements especially when it’s a sudden frozen spring despite the proximity of summer has got to be worth something to look back and smile about .

of course , after a little bit of this , it’s time to return to His care ; for i am only human . and i’m certain He sent the consecutive and almost simultaneous saving graces i received this morning . it’s nice to hear a voice from the very few you can trust and to know that an unwavering faith can still deliver moments graced with little tears of joy .

lucky ? i wouldn’t say that .

a little patience when required ? that? that i can say with a smile on my weary face .
